SECOLITE® Cement Board offers a dry, stable base for directly applied renders, and can be used behind rainscreen cladding systems.  Strong, lightweight, moisture-resistant building material. Available in a variety of thicknesses and sizes. Perfect for a wide range of internal and external building applications.

Applications

SECOLITE® Cement Board is a versatile building material that can be used in a variety of applications, including interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and floors. It can also be finished directly, used as a substrate for tiles and other decorative coatings, or as an integral component of ETICS.

Installation

SECOLITE® Cement Board can be installed easily and securely on steel or wood framing.

  • Cut to size with a utility knife. SECOLITE® Cement Board can be easily cut to size with a utility knife. This makes it a versatile material that can be used in a variety of applications.
  • Fastened to studs with cement board screws. Once the cement board is cut to size, it can be fastened to the studs with SECOLITE® alkali resistant cement board screws. This will ensure that the board is secure and will not move during installation.
  • Joints formed using joint adhesive. The joints between the cement board sheets can be formed using SECOLITE® Joint Adhesive. This will create a strong and watertight joint that will protect the underlying framing. Joints can be made in different ways:
      1. Use SECOLITE® joint filler plus joint mesh tape or
      2. Use SECOLITE® joint adhesive or another suitable (weather resistant) adhesive / mastic
      3. Use a self-adhesive tape
      4. A combination of 2 and 3
    • Finished with reinforcing tape and joint filler. The joints can then be finished with SECOLITE® reinforcing tape and SECOLITE® Joint Filler. This will provide a smooth and finished surface that is ready for painting or other finishing treatments.
